About This Video

What the Client asked for
Modern Skate wanted something quick and entertaining that customers could relate to, sort of a video byte.  Since we weren’t asked to include any kind of talking or explaining in the video, we were able to let the pictures tell the story – not a hard job when your talent is two of the best local skateboard champs around. 

Why Video Burst?
Video Burst understands that each web ad is different and each genre demands special techniques.  When the demographic for the video is ages 14 to 25, speed and energy are essential.  For this video, we used a hand held camera shot from multiple angles and heights.  Fortunately, we’re not afraid to get dirty, so laying down on the ground while skateboarders fly over doesn’t really bother us.  In the edit, we make sure that each shot is different from the one before and syncs perfectly with the music.  Finally, everything drives toward the swoosh at the end, and its all over in under a minute.

One of the most exciting and effective web video formats around, this type of action video promotes your product or service with a burst of pure entertainment.  No words, no explanation, no ad copy – the music and images do all the talkin’.  The beauty of a web video that is truly short and sweet is that, after watching it, the viewer is more willing to read the copy on the site and more interested in learning more about your brand.  Also, the professional polish and energy of the video lends credibility and builds brand recognition.

This type of web ad works great when the goal is to grab the attention of the viewer and not let go.  Modern Skate loved the use of quick cuts, jump cuts, music sync, picture-in- picture and a variety of grain and coloring effects.  They also appreciated that the editing and special effects enhance to the experience rather than detract from it.  Once again, we achieved our goal of exceeding the client’s expectations by delivering everything they bargained for and more.
